Vlog Project
Vlog Definition: A Video blog where a person films themselves either talking about a subject they care about or find entertaining or film themselves and their daily activities.
Other Vloggers
A few of the vloggers that I found to be interesting were Fun for Louis and Naomi Smart. Louis films himself as he travels around the world and uploads a new video every day. Naomi does "What I eat in a day" videos that helped to to form the idea for my own video. Both provide interesting content and it is cool to see how they are able to make a living doing what they love.

My Vlog: What I Throw Away in a Day
I've noticed that a lot of the content on YouTube surrounds consumerism. People do haul videos and talk about the products that they are loving. It is an interesting reflection of our societal values as many of these vloggers aren't even trying to sell you anything. Our culture just values consumerism A LOT. And so for my vlog I wanted to look at the other side of consumerism and talk about the trash and waste that comes with it.

Music is "Natural Disaster" by Andrew Bird. All rights for the music go to the artist.
Revision Project: Baby Bop
For my second semester revision project I wanted to focus on video editing. For my first Marmoset Project I did very minimal video editing and really focused on the choice of music. But I wanted to spend more time with the video to play around with the visual footage. For this second video I focused more on the clips of the babies bopping around to fit with the theme of the music. I cut out some of the unrelated or purely promotional footage to add even more to the playful vibe. All rights for the music ("Move Your Body") still go to the artist (True Ripper).
Marmoset Video Project: Baby Bop
For this project my class teamed up with the company Marmoset to practice layering video and audio together. For my project I chose two vintage (1960's and 1970's) pampers diaper commercials and juxtaposed the video with a modern track that has a heavy beat. The music adds a fresh and playful vibe to the original commercial.
The music is "Move Your Body" by True Ripper. All rights for the song go to the artist.

ABC Video: "Scrabble Magic"
A stop motion animation video using the whole alphabet and the concept of magic and the game of scrabble.
5x5 Project: "Dog Walk"
This video follows an outline of five clips, each five seconds in length (excluding the title scene). It tells the story of the walk that my step-dad takes my dog Lucy on every morning before school. The song is a recording of Early Morning Riser, performed by Turkey Run, my step-dad's old band (who open for the Grateful Dead!!).
